‘May you live in interesting times’, goes the ancient Chinese curse. As we watch this unprecedented situation unfold, it is clear that we are living through extraordinary times, with extraordinary measures being taken to ensure our safety, and the safety of others.

With these measures comes a great deal of uncertainty. And where uncertainty leads, anxiety tends to follow. We can be preyed upon by unanswered, and oftentimes unanswerable, questions. How long with this last? How will I and my loved ones be affected? How will life look once this is all over?

On top of all this, we are being asked to self-isolate and practise social distancing, denying ourselves the consolation of company and our usual routines. It is little wonder, therefore, that some of us may find ourselves struggling to cope.

To try and ease the burden, I have prepared a self-hypnosis mp3 to help you relax deeply and absorb some useful suggestions about staying calm in this time of crisis. It’s really easy to use – just find a quiet place to sit and simply follow the instructions on the recording.

Hypnosis is completely safe, and anyone who wants to be hypnotised can be, simply listening along and imagining that everything being said is true. I hope you find it useful and enjoyable, and please do feel free to share it with anyone you think could benefit.
