Many of us derive enormous satisfaction and pride from our busy lives and careers, and usually still have a lot we would like to accomplish. However, the pace of modern life is such that many of us have probably, at one time or another, harboured fantasies of retreating like Thoreau to our own private Walden[1]. So how do we reconcile these two opposing urges?
